John Byron is the name of the artist/ writer that Tony was trying to think of. In the mid 80's DC revamped their entire universe to modernize and make it easier for new fans to get to love the characters without having to know 30 to 40 years of back story. One of the affects of this rejuvination was the de-powering of Superman to make him less god-like (there was an early 80's comic where Superman and Supergirl were flying in space and talking to each other...there is no air in space).</description>
